Rangitoto

I am so happy that I have climbed to the top of Rangitoto and got to go inside the lava caves.

First Miss Cooper told us to line up in the classroom. Then we walked to the bus and hopped on. I sat next to my good friend Thomas. We talked about soccer and race cars and saw cars, the shiny road and other awesome stuff.

Next we left the bus and got on the glamorous ferry that gleamed like a diamond. When we got on the boat and we started to move I got badly seasick, that was as bad as a big blue bee covered in bags of basket balls covered in bugs. When I went inside the boat I felt a bit better, but I still felt bad. When I got off the boat I was completely fine.

Mr Ayson talked about the history of Rangitoto and when the owner of the house on Rangitoto died the house was taken away. Some groups went to the toilet while others started of the walk. We could see rocks and trees. We started the walk without going to the toilet. My group was Eve, Izzy, Marie, Sean And Miss Cooper. We started off great but then Sean and Marie started to really slow down so we took a little break and some groups passed us. After a while we started to sweat so we had a snack and some more groups passed us. We could see birds, insects and other things while we marched up the colossal Rangitoto.

At last we were at the summit of Rangitoto, but we couldn't stay for long!! There were hundreds of wasps, so we went down a different path to the lava caves!!!

The first lava cave was a dead end but that still didn't stop me from being the person who went the furthest into the cave!!! There were giant rocks and small stones. In the second cave it was not a dead end. My torch kept on failing but it was quite short so "few" I said. I loved it

The walk down was so so easy but I still got sweaty! I saw more giant rocks and lovely trees and creepy rocks and crazy trees until we got back to the wharf.

On the ferry that went back I got seasick again so I went inside again. I saw people trying to sleep and other weird stuff. The best part was seeing my friend having a good time. It was two o'clock when we got back to school. I was relieved but happy!!

Yay!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
