On Tuesday the 18th of August, Meadowbank School and 11 other schools competed in a winter field day.
The soccer A-teams and B-teams of Meadowbank School and the other Schools battled out in fun and awesome games. Zachary and the A-team came 9th and Donovan and the B-team came 7th.
"Blake the goalkeeper saved a beautiful shot to the top corner" said Zachary after a thrilling game. "It was fun, I'm glad we did quite well and it was very successful" said Donovan after an awesome winter field day. Overall it was a successful, wet winter field day.

Why We Should Do More Maths
Did you know that 6 x 9 + 6 + 9 = 69?
Well even if you didn’t, I know one thing for sure, we should do more maths. I am going to tell you why maths is fun, why it helps you with everyday things and what amazing things you can do with maths. By the end of this speech you should have learnt why we should do more maths.
Firstly, you might not think it, but maths is quite fun!! One way is to make it fun yourself. What do you like? Candy bars? You could make candy bar division by dividing the candy bars up equally for your friends! Also, did you know that if you spell out pi to the second decimal (3.14) backwards it spells out the word pie (P-I-E)? Someone probably found this out because they wanted to have fun with maths.
Second, have you ever thought about how everyone uses maths every day? You use maths in the garden, to measure how deep the hole is to plant the seedling, how much water you give a plant, and how much fertiliser you put on the plants. Isn’t that amazing!!! Well, there is more!!! At the supermarket, when you need to decide the best value product to buy, also weighing how much fruit to buy, and finding out what the total cost of the shopping is. In the kitchen, measuring how much chicken stock to put in the food!!! That is just a few, there are ALOT MORE!!!!!!
Third, lets talk about some amazing things you can do with maths.
Do you want to be like Albert Einstein?
He was a physicist who could do amazing things with maths. He was especially famous for the physics equation E=Mc2 or, Energy = The speed of light - squared.
Computers are also quite amazing!! We use them for: Games like Tanki, Minecraft and Real star soccer. Phones are little computers, and I even wrote this speech on a computer. Why am I telling you about computers? Well, they operate using a special kind of maths called computer code.
I have listed lots of amazing things that everyone can do with maths. I strongly believe that everyone can be good at maths and find it fun. I think that all of us can do more maths, teachers can teach more, students can learn more, and we can all have lots of fun.
In fact, we should do maths every day!!!! LETS DO MORE MATHS!!!!!!

The Cyberbullied Maufish
Once upon a time, in the land of Mau, there were Laappaass and Maufishes. The both lived luxurious lives but the Laappaass were fat and mean. One of the Laappaass was named Marshazie and she was the meanest of the mean. One day, two Maus named Jax and Eve were sitting on the bench at the park when they got a mean message from Marshazie saying ''You are are big fat poo." Jax and Eve were furious and told the collage Principal (Who was a Mau) and since she had done it before, she was expelled from the school. Jax and Eve were both happy and everyone lived happily ever after!!!
For the 1 Eyed Alien!!!!!!
Once upon a time there was a lonely alien. He was called weird because he had 1 eyes instead of 7. One day, he went to the alien disco and there were lots of aliens there. He was chosen to go on the stage and while he was dancing, one of the aliens who liked to tease him came up from behind him and bunny ears him and since he couldn’t see behind him, he got totally embarrassed. The 1 eyed alien went to the back of the room and the alien who had bullied him said “I dare every (real alien) alien to get naked because our parents aren’t here” and everyone apart from the 1 eyed alien said “yes”. But a couple minutes later all the parents came in and everyone apart from the “not real alien” was super embarrassed and the “real aliens” learnt a lesson. One, their parents were annoyed that they were bullying and two, not to take your clothes off at a disco and everyone lived happily ever after.

Also, the estimated diameter of Pluto was 1430 miles, but the actual diameter is 1473 miles! At the top of the post there is a link of the mountains of Pluto.
